Be Authentic
Honesty is the foundation of meaningful connections. We expect all members to represent themselves truthfully.
Do:
- Use recent photos that accurately represent how you look today
- Be honest about your age, relationship status, and intentions
- Share genuine information about yourself in your profile
- Complete photo verification to build trust with potential matches
Don't:
- Use photos of other people or heavily filtered/edited images that misrepresent your appearance
- Create fake profiles or impersonate others
- Lie about significant details like having children, your location, or relationship status
- Maintain multiple accounts
Be Respectful
Everyone on The Transfer Portal is navigating their own journey. Treat others with the kindness and respect you'd want for yourself.
Do:
- Communicate respectfully, even if you're not interested
- Accept rejection gracefully - not every connection will be a match
- Respect others' boundaries and pace preferences
- Be understanding that people have different co-parenting schedules and availability
Don't:
- Send unsolicited sexual content or explicit messages
- Harass, bully, or repeatedly contact someone who isn't responding
- Make discriminatory comments about race, religion, gender, sexuality, body type, or disability
- Mock or shame others for their divorce, parenting situation, or readiness journey
- Use abusive, threatening, or violent language
Keep It Safe
Safety is our top priority. We work hard to create a secure environment, and we need your help to maintain it.
Do:
- Report suspicious behavior, fake profiles, or harassment immediately
- Meet in public places for first dates
- Tell a friend or family member about your date plans
- Trust your instincts - if something feels wrong, it probably is
- Use the in-app blocking feature for anyone making you uncomfortable
Don't:
- Share personal financial information or send money to anyone you meet on the app
- Share your home address before you've established trust
- Engage with anyone who seems to be running a scam
- Ignore red flags like inconsistent stories or pressure to move off the app quickly
Protect Privacy
Respect others' privacy just as you'd want yours respected. What happens in The Transfer Portal should stay private unless both parties agree otherwise.
Do:
- Keep conversations and shared information confidential
- Ask permission before sharing someone's profile with friends
- Respect when someone wants to take things slowly before sharing personal details
Don't:
- Screenshot or share private conversations publicly without consent
- Share others' photos, personal information, or contact details
- Attempt to find or contact matches outside the app without their permission
- Dox, stalk, or gather information about matches through external sources
No Illegal Activity
The Transfer Portal has zero tolerance for illegal behavior of any kind.
Prohibited:
- Soliciting or offering prostitution or escort services
- Human trafficking of any kind
- Sharing or soliciting explicit images of minors (immediate ban and law enforcement report)
- Distributing drugs or controlled substances
- Using the platform to promote illegal activities
- Fraud, scams, or attempts to steal money or information
- Threats of violence or harm
We report illegal activity to law enforcement authorities.
No Spam or Commercial Activity
The Transfer Portal is for genuine connections, not business promotion.
Prohibited:
- Promoting businesses, products, or services
- Soliciting followers for social media accounts
- Recruiting for MLMs, investment schemes, or similar opportunities
- Sending repetitive or automated messages
- Using the platform solely to drive traffic elsewhere
- Phishing or attempting to collect others' login credentials
Content Standards
Keep profile content appropriate and focused on genuine self-representation.
Profile Photos Must:
- Clearly show your face in at least one photo
- Be of you (not someone else, celebrities, or fictional characters)
- Not contain nudity or sexually explicit content
- Not include children's faces (for their privacy and safety)
- Not contain graphic violence, weapons, or illegal substances
- Not be heavily filtered to the point of misrepresentation
Bio and Prompts Must:
- Not contain explicit sexual content
- Not include hate speech or discriminatory language
- Not contain contact information designed to circumvent the platform
- Not include threats or aggressive language
Special Considerations for Our Community
As a platform specifically for divorced and separated singles, we have additional expectations around sensitivity.
Be Mindful:
- Everyone is at a different stage of their healing journey - be patient
- Co-parenting situations are complex - be flexible about scheduling
- Divorce can be emotionally raw - be gentle with yourself and others
- Children's wellbeing comes first for parents - respect that priority
- Some people aren't ready for relationships yet - respect their pace
Never:
- Shame someone for their divorce or separation
- Criticize someone's parenting or custody arrangements
- Pressure someone to introduce you to their children
- Badmouth an ex-spouse or ask invasive questions about their divorce
- Judge someone for using Soft Start Mode or taking dating slowly
Enforcement
We take guideline violations seriously to maintain a safe community for everyone.
What Happens When Guidelines Are Violated:
- Warning: For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning
- Temporary Restriction: Your account may be temporarily limited (e.g., can't message or match)
- Account Suspension: For serious violations, your account may be temporarily suspended
- Permanent Ban: Severe or repeated violations result in permanent removal from the platform
Immediate Ban Offenses:
- Any form of illegal activity
- Sharing explicit content involving minors
- Threats of violence
- Severe harassment or stalking
- Fraud or scam attempts
All enforcement decisions are made by our Trust & Safety team after careful review. If you believe your account was restricted in error, you can appeal by contacting appeals@thetransferportalapp.com.
How to Report
If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately.
In the App:
- Tap the three dots menu on any profile or in a chat
- Select “Report”
- Choose the reason and provide details
- Your report is anonymous - the other person won't know who reported them

We review all reports within 24-48 hours. Urgent safety reports are prioritized.
